Adam Brown continues his impressive form, finishing 0.05 off the podium in fourth in the 100m Freestyle at the European Short Course Championships in Sczcecin, Poland in 2011. Swimming TV Interview here.
Konrad Czerniak (POL) led the way to the 50m free semis on 21.12, second best in the world this season just behind the 21.09 of Sergey Fesikov (RUS) last month. Fesikov went through in third on 21.32, behind 21.16 from Marco Orsi (ITA), Adam Brown (GBR) on 21.37, a best time and the closest anyone has come to the British record that has stood to Mark Foster at 21.13 since 2001.
The dash finals: Konrad Czerniak gave Polish supporters reason to raise the roof with a 20.88 victory in the 50m freestyle 0.07sec ahead of Sergey Fesikov, the Russian coached at the ADN Swim project, bronze going to Marco Orsi (ITA) in 21.01. Those three efforts are the fastest in the world so far this season. At the helm of those locked out of the podium race were Luca Dotto (ITA), on 21.30, and Adam Brown (GBR), on 21.41, just 0.04sec shy of the lifetime best he set in heats this morning.
